Has the desire to hike gripped you already? Especially autumn is ideal for hiking and lots of outdoor activities. At the Kinderhotel Ramsi we take a lot of time with you for cross-border, guided pleasure hikes, our popular three-country corner hike and a bike tour from Italy to Slovenia. “Our Alps-Adriatic-region is truly unique and is characterised by its special location near the border with our Slovenian and Italian neighbours. With beautiful autumn weather you have a wonderful view from the Großglockner to the Italian Adriatic Sea. In between, the many mountain lakes sparkle and glitter,” enthuse Karin and Walter Ramsbacher, who themselves share the enthusiasm for hiking and exercise in nature.
Unlimited hiking experiences
“Recently we made a trip to the nearby Vršič pass in the Triglav National Park in Slovenia and were rewarded with a magnificent view of the Carnic and Julian Alps as well as the Hohe Tauern with the Großglockner after the ascent,” says our hotel manager Karin. A wonderful hiking destination for the whole family are for example the Laghi di Fusine directly over the border in Italy at Tarvis or the Predilsee – also “around the corner”. Karin recommends: “If you also want to discover a Slovenian lake, the beautiful Bleder lake with the famous Bleder cream slices and the Bleder castle is a hot tip for you!
Discover mountain lakes at Nassfeld
“The Nassfeld is known in winter as Carinthia’s largest skiing area with a total of 110 kilometres of pistes and 30 mountain railways and lifts. In summer and autumn the area becomes an adventure mountain and is a true eldorado for families. Even apart from the many attractions, there are wonderful nature and hiking experiences to discover,” says mountain hiking guide Walter Ramsbacher. The many ponds for snow-making in winter are wonderfully embedded in the landscape and represent popular photo motifs (e.g. at the Watschiger and Garnitzenalm). “One of them is even lovingly designed as an “Aqua Trail” as a family hike. A real natural monument is the idyllic, turquoise blue lake Bodensee along the Nassfeld road and the Lago di Pramollo on the Italian side of the Nassfeld becomes a cross-border experience”, says our hotel manager Walter.
Focus on colourful nature
Ramsi’s world of nature offers a wonderful variety of colors especially in autumn. On the sunny, 100.000 m2 south plateau of the Kinderhotel numerous colourful autumn flowers of grandma Ramsi bloom. The guest tree forest with its many different tree species and ripe fruit changes colour in many exciting ways. We also enjoy the wonderful view of the gold-coloured Carnic Alps and the directly opposite Nassfeld from the mediterranean panorama terrace decorated with citrus plants.
